Welcome to Connevo Pty Ltd ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency regarding our data practices within the Cookstep mobile application (the "App").

Cookstep is a local-only application. Your personal recipe data, photos, meal plans, notes, and preferences are stored exclusively on your device and are never transmitted to, stored on, or accessed by our servers.

If you delete the App or lose your device, your local content will be lost. We recommend utilising your device’s native cloud backup solutions (such as Apple iCloud or Google Drive) to back up your data, as we have no access to, or responsibility for, your local files.

Because Cookstep operates locally, the information we collect and process is minimal and limited to the following categories:

A. Data You Provide (Stored Locally on Device)All user-generated content is stored on your device:

• Recipe Content: Any recipes, notes, photos, and meal plans you create, save, or modify within the App.
• App Preferences: Settings related to the user interface, cooking modes, and scaling preferences.

B. Data Collected Automatically (for Maintenance and Improvement)This technical data is processed by third-party services (see Section 3) and is never linked to your identity, your email address, or your private local recipe content:

• Support & Communication: If you voluntarily contact us via email for support or feedback, we collect your email address and the content of your message, solely to respond to your inquiry.
• Usage and Diagnostic Data: Non-personal, aggregated data regarding the App’s stability and performance, such as crash reports and feature usage statistics. This data is provided to us by the respective App Store platform to maintain and improve the App.
• Device Information: Basic technical metadata, such as device model, operating system version, and general region. This metadata is required by App Store Analytics tools to segment performance statistics and is not used to identify you personally.

We use limited third-party services strictly to maintain and improve the technical operation of the App. These services process the anonymous Usage and Diagnostic Data described above:

• Analytics and Crash Reporting: We rely exclusively on Apple’s built-in App Store Connect Analytics to monitor the App's technical performance and stability. This data is anonymized and aggregated by Apple and contains no unique device identifiers, IP addresses, or personal information linked to your identity or your local content.
• Cookstep does not integrate with any third-party marketing, tracking, or advertising SDKs.

We do not share any user-created recipe content with third parties.

We do not sell your personal information. The limited data we collect is shared only in these circumstances:

• Service Providers: With the third-party technical services listed in Section 3, solely for the purpose of app maintenance.
• Legal Obligation: If required by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.

We only retain the limited data we process (your support email and correspondence) for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law. Generally, we retain support emails for a period of up to 12 months after the last communication.

As your data is stored on your device, you maintain full control over your content:

• Access, Correction, and Deletion: You have the ability to access, modify, or delete all of your recipe content directly within the App's interface at any time.
• Data Erasure: Deleting the Cookstep App from your device will automatically remove all local content and data. If you wish to have your support email and related correspondence deleted, please contact us.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. For significant changes, we will also notify you with a prominent notice within the App.
